Our Responsibilities:

Home Inspection Agreement:

For our General Home Inspections, we use a single-page plain-English Home Inspection Agreement.

Before your inspection, we ask that you sign a copy of the Agreement.

Standards of Practice:

For all of our General Home Inspections, Home Tech uses the Standards of Practice of the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors (InterNACHI). These exceed the Standards of Practice of both New York and Connecticut.

In Summary, we methodically inspect the following components and systems:

3.1.   Roof
3.2.   Exterior
3.3.   Basement, Foundation, Crawlspace & Structure
3.4.   Heating
3.5.   Cooling
3.6.   Plumbing
3.7.   Electrical
3.8.   Fireplace
3.9.   Attic, Insulation & Ventilation
3.10. Doors, Windows & Interior

Your Responsibilities:

Remember that our client - and the person in who's interest we are working - is you, the buyer (or seller, or owner), not the realtor, attorney or other party to a real estate transaction.

The following items will be reviewed when you make your appointment, but in order for the Home Inspection to go as smoothly as possible, we ask that you - or your Realtor - ensure the following:

  1. That the occupants of the home are aware of the inspection appointment and that access will be available.

  2. That you have read, understand and signed the Home Inspection Agreement.

  3. That you have read, and understand, the Home Inspection Standards of Practice.

  4. That you understand the cost of our service and will make payment as agreed.

  5. That any other parties (Realtors etc.) are aware of the appointment.

We thank you in advance for your cooperation and look forward to working with you.
